FEATURED PROJECTS
Cricketers is a self-build renovation project set in the North Norfolk countryside. The existing cottage has been renovated back to life as well as a new ground floor rear and side extension offering a generous garden room, downstairs bedroom and bathroom, providing a lovely space to enjoy the surrounding countryside and Norfolk sunsets. The project features an extensive green roof and where possible locally sourced and reclaimed materials.

Sterling Beast is a custom made sculpture that was placed in the City of London and West Wittering beach. It responds to its environmental conditions translating wind into movement providing a commentary on the varied contexts into which it is placed.
The design, mechanics and philosophy were influenced by the Strand Beasts by Theo Jansen and Henri Bergson's philosophy on the Perception of Time.

We are interested in exploring the versatility of concrete to create interesting shapes and durable forms. We have teamed up with a local craftsperson to produce kitchen worktops, lamp shades and serving bowls. In order to offset the carbon footprint of these products we have contributed to a local forestry project, rewilding a farm area back into woodland.

Alston Architects are passionate about working with the natural world and reducing our carbon footprint as much as possible.
By teaming up with a local farmer we have managed to Re-wild a 5-acre plot of arable farm land. We have planted deciduous trees such as Oak and Beech which could provide a source of sustainable construction materials in the future.
